Recently Creative Appliques partnered with Accuquilt to design custom machine embroidery applique designs and in-the-hoop projects to be used with their GO! applique dies. You may be asking what is an Accuquilt.

If you are not familiar with the system, AccuQuilt is a brand that makes fabric cutting machines and dies designed to help quilters and crafters cut fabric quickly and accurately. What if you want to use these applique designs but do not have an Accuquilt? No problem! You can stitch up these designs just like any “old school” applique. The only difference with these designs is there is no tack down stitching for the second step. No worries! Here is how you can adapt the design for the applique portion of the file:

  1. Stitch step 1 the placement stitch.
  2. Place your fabric piece that is cut larger than the stitching right side up extending beyond all the stitching.
  3. Repeat stitching step 1 to tack down the fabric.
  4. Trim close to the stitching.
  5. Proceed in this manner for all the fabric pieces.
